What a brilliant night! We had a fantastic seminar last night looking at the lasso guard with David.

Huge congratulations to everyone who received stripes. A further special congratulations goes to Hanan on earning her well-deserved Blue Belt!

Hanan has been an integral part of the club since we started, serving as a great, safe training partner and a fierce competitor. We are incredibly proud to have her as part of the Roll Models family. A pleasure to coach in the gym and at competitions, well done Hanan.

What a fantastic weekend for our competitors! Congratulations to everyone who stepped on the mats and put on some great matches. The team took a great second overall!

Tamsyn had an incredible debut at blue belt, winning both her Gi and No-Gi divisions. Her success is a perfect example of a simple formula: great commitment and attitude, turn up, get better.

Hanan also stepped up to the blue belt No-Gi division for the first time on short notice and took home gold after three gruelling matches. Her tenacity and ability to listen and make adjustments on the fly paid off. A pleasure to coach.

Lee continued his excellent start in Jiu-Jitsu, securing a silver in the Gi. He always competes hard and was rewarded with another medal, including a submission win along the way. His commitment to training despite the various knocks and surgeries from a life of adventure is amazing.

Tom is heading back to university, but he leaves on a high note with a bronze medal and a nice submission win in the Gi. We’ll miss him and his brother and look forward to welcoming them back soon when they need mum to do the washing.

Harry, one of our many friends from Stoke Combat Academy, bounced back from a loss to score a great submission win.

Ben showed massive improvements in his second competition. He fought so hard, escaping deep submissions and showing an amazing attitude all day. His skills are catching up with his legendary mentality!

Was great to welcome @shanecurtisbjj into the gym last night. We go back a along way, and it’s incredible to see the level he’s operating at — not just as a competitor week in, week out, but also now as a very capable coach. Book him for a seminar, you won’t regret it!
